The Academic Coordinator will be a key member of the BE team, responsible for managing academic functions such as rostering, accreditation, course management, and registration.

Job Description

In close collaboration with Department Chair, Administrative Director, and Associate Director for Advising, the Academic Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the BE roster, including courses for all levels (UG, masters, PhD) and XCAT. They will provide support through the registration and graduation processes, including processing permit requests, clearing worksheets, and updating student information.

They will process program and course updates in Curriculum Manager, and support the Undergraduate Program Chair as needed with issues related to the BE curriculum. They will offer course support in the form of arranging events for faculty in undergraduate courses (e.g. demo days, independent study poster sessions, and senior design), and process hiring of TAs and other course support personnel.

The Academic Coordinator will act as primary administrative support through the ABET accreditation process and assist faculty members with collecting needed information and updating ongoing documentation. They will serve as logistical support during accreditation site visits, and process after-action reporting for future accreditation cycles.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with faculty preferred. Ability to master policies and procedures in a timely manner and communicate them to others. Capable of independent judgement. Able to maintain confidentiality of records and sensitive information. Able to deal professionally and tactfully with diverse constituents. Excellent organizational, relational, and customer service skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; intermediate to advanced computer skills. Demonstrated ability to self-teach applications. Ability to take initiative and work independently, multi-task, set and adjust priorities, and work as part of a team. Existing familiarity with Penn systems and policies highly desired but not required.

Hybrid Eligible - This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with a work week divided between working onsite and working remotely.

The budgeted range for this position is $28 -$31 an hour.
