Job Summary
The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) encourages applications for the Temporary Engineering ProReady + BOLD Career Advisor! This position will lead efforts to coordinate and develop career support, engage students in career advising and programs, create resources, and developing meaningful connections with students, staff, and faculty within BOLD.
This position provides individual Engineering ProReady career advising through appointments and drop-ins to BOLD Scholars. Career advising topics will focus on career exploration and goal setting, professional development planning (including conference attendance, jobs, internships, and graduate/professional school), and building and sustaining professional networks. Finally, this position creates and facilitates engaging presentations and workshops on relevant and timely Engineering ProReady career topics for BOLD student societies and the broader BOLD and Lattice Scholars community.
The Engineering ProReady + BOLD Career Advisor reports to the Assistant Director of Engineering ProReady Career Advising and coordinates with the BOLD Assistant Director for Academic Services and Operations. The position is a temporary, 50% appointment (20 hours per week average), starting in August 2025 and running through Fall and Spring semesters. The position is term-limited (potential for rehire) for nine months and is not eligible for CU benefits.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Career Advising and Engagement:
- Provide Engineering ProReady career advising for CEAS BOLD Scholars through scheduled appointments, drop-in sessions, and group advising sessions in an in-person and virtual environment.
- Develop and deliver Engineering ProReady career and professional development content for engaging BOLD Scholars and Student Societies on Engineering ProReady career development topics, including pre-departure preparation for student conferences.
- Develop strategic relationships with CEAS faculty, staff, and academic advisors to deliver on key career advising outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Engineering ProReady Employer Relations team and BOLD Center to facilitate industry and alumni engagement opportunities.
Assessment, Data, and Professional Development:
- Track data on student engagement, maintain contact logs, and notes from career advising appointments in alignment with Engineering ProReady Career Advising, BOLD Center, and campus Career Services procedures.
- Manage technology and platforms related to area of responsibility.
- Attend Engineering ProReady, BOLD Center, or other meetings with key collaborators.
- Develop professional skills and knowledge, stay current with relevant trends and the best processes in career advising (both general and CEAS-specific).
Additional Duties:
- Attend Engineering ProReady, CEAS, or related meetings at the direction of the Assistant Director of Engineering ProReady Career Advising.
- Assume special projects that align with the needs and interests of the Engineering ProReady team and the BOLD Center.
- Given the changing nature of work and the Engineering ProReady team commitment to be adaptable and innovative as the nature of our work and students' needs change, the Engineering ProReady + BOLD Career Advisor will assume duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Engineering ProReady Career Advising.
What You Should Know
The position is a temporary, 50% appointment (20 hours per week average), starting in August 2025 and runs through Fall and Spring semesters. The position may work in a hybrid modality with most working hours between 8:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional night hours for events. The specific work schedule will be finalized between the Engineering ProReady + BOLD Career Advisor, the Assistant Director for Engineering ProReady Career Advising, and the BOLD Assistant Director for Academic Services and Operations.
What We Can Offer
The hire rate for this position is $27.00 per hour.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year of combined professional experience related to the job duties, which may include career advising, academic advising, recruitment, teaching, counseling, K12 or community-based education, nonprofit, mentorship, STEM industry or research, human resources, business, or similar experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

- Thorough, but also able to strategically optimize datasets or use tech platforms.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement models and processes.
- Knowledge of CU Engineering programs.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with varied constituencies.
- Experience in program coordinating.
- Experience planning and leading events.
